November 05, 2012, 7:15 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The long-standing relationship between the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize and the National Portrait Gallery picks up again this November.
Professional, student and amateur photographers from all over the world submit their work to the exhibition, which has been running for nearly twenty years. Some 6,000 entries, from more than 2,500 photographers, are expected to compete for the £12,000 grand prize. Around 60 works will be selected for the exhibition itself.
The show is a highlight of London's annual arts calendar, as it allows for huge diversity of theme and style, and offers gifted amateurs the opportunity to break through to a wider audience. The exhibition runs from 8 th November to 17 th February, with tickets costing just £2. The show opens daily at 10am, closing at 6pm, with late shows on Thursdays and Fridays running until 9pm.
To coincide with the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize, events and booking website LondonTown.com has announced details of cheap London hotel deals on rooms close to the National Portrait Gallery.
